Residency

Become a Resident at Wellspring Church.

The 3 Streams Institute Residency at Wellspring Church is a two-year, full-time pastoral pathway for leaders discerning senior pastoral leadership and ordination to the priesthood in the Anglican Church. Residents are immersed in the life of the local church as pastoral staff, growing through hands-on ministry, mentoring, and the rhythms of Word, Spirit, and Sacrament. Alongside interns and apprentices, residents participate in 3SI’s relational, formational, and experiential community, with attention to spiritual formation, emotional and relational health, pastoral training, Anglican tradition, management and leadership, and discernment and calling.

Why Join the 3 Streams Residency?

The residency bridges the gap between seminary education and the realities of pastoral leadership, providing a unique "teaching hospital" model for the church.
Financial Support: A competitive salary of $74,500, plus full benefits (health, dental), 10 holidays, 3 weeks of vacation, moving assistance of up to $5,000, and up to a $5,000 scholarship for your final semester of seminary.
Professional Development: Work as a pastor at a leading, vibrant, Anglican church in Denver Colorado, and receive mentoring for senior pastors, work experience, and pastoral training.
Formational Community: Participate in a vibrant, gospel-centered community that prioritizes emotional and spiritual health alongside ministry output.

How It Works

Year One: Learning and Leading

Residents spend Year 1 rooted in the Wellspring community, serving as part of the pastoral staff, participating in 3SI’s relational and experiential cohorts, and making steady progress through the ordination process. The focus is on hands-on ministry, pastoral skill development, and growth in Word, Spirit, and Sacrament.

Year Two: Sending

Year 2 shifts toward preparing residents for their next faithful assignment in senior pastoral leadership or church planting. Learning becomes more tailored and self-directed, with focused mentoring, increased ministry leadership, and intentional preparation for a healthy launch into the Anglican Church.

My time at Wellspring served as an opportunity to build community, grow in leadership, and discern next steps in my pastoral journey. The supportive and encouraging leadership embodies generosity and a true heart to see the Kingdom grow. We were blessed in many ways through our time there.

Is this program right for you?

This program is for:

Self-motivated, mid-career or second-career professionals, or pastors interested in switching from another denomination to the Anglican tradition.

Seasoned ministry leaders seeking executive-level training for church planting within the Anglican denomination.

Individuals with a desire to seek ordination in the Anglican church who would also like to participate in an intensive holistic development program.

This program is NOT for:

Those who are early in their ministry career. (If this is you, check out our internships!)

Individuals who are primarily exploring careers outside an occupational ministry context. The residency prepares individuals for church leadership positions.
