Apprenticeship

Clarify your calling. Hone your craft.

As the next step after internship, the 3 Streams apprenticeship is a part-time paid ministry position within a department of the church. Apprenticeships provide space for individuals to deepen their discernment around pastoral ministry and ordination, focus their work on a particular ministry area, and gain practical professional experience.

Apprentices also participate in a curriculum designed to deepen their interior lives and dive into topics that are designed to increase the ministry preparation, emotional health, and leadership readiness of each participant. The apprenticeship is an opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of pastoral duties and leadership scenarios, from leading worship services to developing healthy ministry cultures.

How It Works

After completing the internship, learners apply for an apprenticeship in a particular department, in conversation with a ministry lead. Apprenticeships are paid (~20 hours/week) roles that also include a tuition benefit. Apprentices are expected to raise a portion of their salary, for which they’re provided training and resources at the conclusion of the internship.

Apprentices gain focused work experience, a community for vocational discernment, mentored professional development, continued investment in their relational, emotional, and spiritual health, and practical career support.
